add Canadian event for 2012

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Look for the LPGA to announce June 28 a new tournament for 2012. Though it won’t be a domestic event, it will be close: Waterloo, Ontario.

Manulife Financial, a Canadian financial-services company, will serve as sponsor, Golfweek has learned. The tournament will be played in June, possibly after the Wegmans LPGA Championship, which could move to an earlier date. LPGA officials are working to make the 2012 schedule have a better flow, with a better geographical alignment and more time between majors. Three majors in six weeks isn’t exactly ideal.

The event will be held at Grey Silo Golf Club, according to CanadianGolfer.com, and will be run by Sports Properties International. diablo edge driver
